SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 9 -- Verity Inc. , a leading provider of enterprise software that helps organizations maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, today announced Verity K2 Enterprise is being used by the French National Institute for Industrial Environment and Risks (INERIS) for search and content organization on the institute's intranet.

Founded in 1990, INERIS is a multi-disciplinary unit within the French Ministry of the Environment. Its mission is to assess and identify ways to prevent accidental and chronic risks to people exposed to industrial plants and chemical substances. INERIS' team of chemists, physicists, physicians, ecotoxicologists, economists, statisticians and specialists in risk assessment serves local governments and businesses in France by undertaking, managing and coordinating studies and research on industrial environment and safety.

Like many public research organizations, INERIS found that the amount of structured and unstructured content generated by its team of researchers, which is stored within its content repositories, increases dramatically on a daily basis, making it difficult for users to locate relevant information quickly and accurately. To cope with this business challenge, INERIS sought an effective search and content organization solution to manage, locate and evaluate its enterprise data.

After conducting extensive evaluations of 11 search and content organization solutions, INERIS selected Verity.
